Black women have been such a tremendous force of nature in tennis for as long as I can remember, and this project is how I would love to pay homage to them. Tennis players that inspired the shoot include Serena and Venus Williams, Naomi Osaka, Coco Guaff, and, of course, Mayowa Akinwole.

The song Venus and Serena by Insyt played in my head the whole time. A huge shoutout to Serena by Tezay as well—another beautiful song that was stuck in my head during the shoot.
